YOUR HEALTH: SCANDAL OF THE HIDDEN FRANKENSTEIN VITAMINS; GM
EXCERPT:
Sunday Mirror, Jul 18, 1999 by SHARON COLLINS
12Next ..STORES and supermarkets are selling vitamin pills containing genetically-modified ingredients...without telling shoppers.

A Sunday Mirror investigation has discovered some of the top names in retailing are failing to label pills they know contain the "Frankenstein" ingredients.

Other stores involved in the pounds 100 million a year vitamin industry can't alert shoppers to the possible peril... because they don't themselves know what's in the pills. As our panels (below) show Asda admits 16 of its own brand vitamins - five meant for children - are in part produced from genetically-modified maize.

Vegan foods in LA???
EXCERPT:
I am still in a state of shock right now so excuse me if this post is a little disorganized. Two days ago quarrygirl.com, a popular Los Angeles vegan blog, posted a story about running a lab test on 17 different vegan restaurants in the LA area to see if they are really vegan as they claim to be. Apparently, it costs them $1000 in lab expenses, so mad props to them for making this sacrifice for the vegan community. You can read the whole article here.

I can’t say enough times how impressed I am by the work that went into this. The article reads like it came out of a scientific journal. The two anonymous bloggers detail step-by-step the lengthy process that went into this, and all the precautions that they took to make sure the results were as accurate as possible. The results? Shockingly enough, 7 of the 17 restaurants tested positive for traces of either shellfish, eggs, or casein (a highly addictive milk protein). Here is the chart of their results:

Humana, the German manufacturer of milk products, has accepted responsibility for the insufficient vitamin content of a type of soya milk produced for export to Israel, which has been linked to the deaths of three babies. An independent examination yesterday showed that the vitamin B1 content of the product, which had been marketed under the name of Remedia Super Soya 1, was only up to one tenth of the value listed on the packaging.

Benzene in pain relievers
EXCERPT:
Benzene and benzene-based molecules are part of many popular medications used to relieve pain, alleviate cold and flu symptoms, and as a weight-loss aid. We know that benzene is a human carcinogen with a unique electromagnetic potential that enables it to insert itself into human DNA. So why is it being used in these popular medications?

Has anybody studied how benzene or its derivatives affect the body when they are ingested in these popular medications?

Soda as a Solution to Global Warming? One Company Thinks So
by Tara Lohan June 26, 2010 @ 08:30AM PT Topics: Ingredients & Labeling Usually soda is the villain in most news stories focusing on rising obesity rates. That's why a recent post at OnEarth is so intriguing. Adam Aston writes about a new scheme from Global Research Technologies that would seek to take C02 out of the atmosphere and funnel it into our pop.

No More Delays On The Child Nutrition Act
Dear Legislator,

We can't wait any longer to stand up for the health and future of our children. Nearly 1 in 3 children throughout the United States struggle with overweight and obesity. Yet, despite this alarming trend, the Child Nutrition Act reauthorization remains incomplete.

This legislation will provide much-needed support to strengthen the ways in which our schools help promote healthy lifestyle habits, such as through proper nutrition and adequate daily physical activity.

Please move swiftly to complete the Child Nutrition Act reauthorization this year.
